Checklist tips for limitless energy

We all want to have more energy! Learning to incorporate some simple habits into your daily routine can transform your energy and your life. Here’s a checklist of science backed tips for increased energy in your life. The beauty of adding these to your life is that you’ll also see a big improvement in health markers too.

  • Sunlight first thing in the morning - it is even worth looking out at cloudy skies, arguably more important. Spend 5/10 mins getting natural light in your eyeballs. This sets your circadian rhythm for the day.

  • If the weather is just too bad to go outside in use a sun lamp. It doesn’t compare to natural sun but it will help.

  • Hydrate as soon as you wake up and continue throughout the day.

  • Do not look at your social media or work emails for the first 30 mins of your day.

  • Eat a high protein breakfast with slow release carbs.

  • Fit in some exercise - even light exercise will do, energy goes where energy flows.

  • Include a meditation or a breathing practice for extra battery points.

  • Eat foods rich in wholefoods and lean proteins. Avoid sugary snacks.

  • Stop drinking caffeine at 4pm latest.

  • In the afternoon go for a walk to help with the afternoon slump or do a yoga nidra practice. Find one on YouTube.

  • In the evening dim the lights - red light reduces cortisol so worth changing a couple light bulbs to increase this relaxation response.

  • Start sipping water a couple of hours before bed instead of gulping so you don’t need to get up to pee in the night.

  • Cover all technology and any outside lights, get black out curtains.

  • Stop watching screens 30 mins before bed.

  • Keep temperature in your room cool for a goodnights rest.

  • Have a hot shower before bed to decrease core body temperature for sleeping, this will engage the melatonin response.

  • Extra points for a relaxation breathing or meditation before going to sleep.

  • Keep roughly the same sleep schedule and work towards 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night.

Try these and let me know in a month how your energy has been supercharged!
