No Carbs Before Marbs?

I grew up in the 90s
It was all no carbs before Marbs
Skinny bitches, and all that BS
I internalised that story too,

Here is the truth:
AS LONG AS YOU ARE IN A CALORIE DEFICIT YOU’LL LOSE FAT!

Now, some clarification: losing fat and weight are very different!

So, for every 1 gram of carbohydrate you eat you’re storing between 2/3g of water
To translate that into more familiar language, say you eat 1 medium Russet potato. You’ll be eating 37 grams of carbohydrate, which would require 111-148 grams of water.

That’s 4-5 ounces, just under half a pound. On a moderate-carb diet, the average person will be retaining around 1.5 pounds of water weight just from carbs on a regular basis. If you go on a fast or simply stop eating all carbohydrates, you’ll lose that 1.5 pounds immediately.

But it’s not fat, you didn’t gain it and you didn’t lose it.

Often people are more successful on low carb diets because they just cut out a whole food group which often contains lots of triggers.

Loads of those highly palatable foods you love are carbs so cutting them out is going to make things easier to lose.

“Great!” You say, yea until you want to eat carbs again. You’ll add water weight straight away and you have not learned the skill of managing carbs.

You know what happens next don’t you?
You put all the weight back on and likely over shoot your previous weight because the body likes to do that , f***er

Unless you don’t really like carbs that much, then you’re good, crack on.

Carbs are not the devil. They don’t make you fat. They’re innocent.

If no carb or low carb works for you for life then awesome, but if you’re interested in potatoes, pizza & cake you’re going to need to learn to moderate.

The good news is, you can have & still lose fat. Not water, FAT.

Oh & it’ll be easier in the long run ‘cos you’ll actually understand how to eat in a way that supports your body & goals ...
Not just for fat loss FOR LIFE.
