Can Weightlifting Reduce Cellulite?

Can Weightlifting Reduce Cellulite?

The short answer is yes, weightlifting can help to reduce cellulite. It may or may not eradicate it completely but building muscle certainly impacts the amount of cellulite you might have. How much we have is a genetic thing and it’s also natural. Jayne Mansfield (look her up) was an icon of beauty & sex appeal in the 50s, and she had cellulite and stretch marks, yet she was adored by millions. These things are natural & womanly, god knows why we as a society have deemed them unsightly. Remember that Jayne Mansfield was a sex symbol with cellulite and it doesn’t make our beautiful womanly bodies any less because we have it. I have cellulite off and on depending on how much body fat I am carrying. Recently I got ill and lost a ton of weight, I couldn’t exercise for 2 months and was really skinny, I definitely have more cellulite now so it’s not just a about how much weight we carry. As I am building muscle I notice it is reducing. This is purely anecdotal but there’s a significant amount of research to back my own experience. I also have many data points with clients to draw upon.

It’s such a huge anxiety for women, I stress over it too and wish that wasn’t the case. What I’d like to know is who decided cellulite was not something to celebrate? Celubrate should be a new word. Maybe we could reclaim it ladies?
